Explore the basics of the ancient art of encaustic painting. Encaustic painting uses a wax-based paint composed of beeswax, resin, and pigment. We will review setting up an in-home studio set-up, safety issues, surface options, choosing the right torch, color mixing, fusing with a torch, layering, creating texture and more. This class is for students that have never used wax as a medium before or those that have just started out and want to further explore this medium. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Material Fee of $40 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop covers all supplies.
